Raised in the close-knit community of Pembroke, Ontario, Melissa spent her first 20 years embracing the warmth of small-town life, which shaped a deep appreciation for community and connection. Drawn to Peterborough for its blend of city life and tight-knit feel, Melissa loves that it feels like a “giant version of home.”
In 2007,Melissa graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College as a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist Assistant and spent 15 years working in private physio clinics and at the Peterborough Regional Health Center. This experience instilled in her a dedication to proactive communication and top-tier service, which would later transfer seamlessly into her real estate career. Certified as both a Les Mills RPM instructor and a Fitness Instructor Specialist since 2013, Melissa has a passion for motivating and supporting clients both in fitness and in real estate.
After years of buying and selling properties personally, Melissa officially entered the real estate field in 2021, inspired by a lifelong dedication to building meaningful customer relationships. Known for guiding clients through seamless, stress-free transactions, Melissa understands that real estate journeys are as diverse as the clients themselves—some are full of celebration, while others may be more sensitive. Regardless, she is there with their clients every step of the way.
Outside of real estate, Melissa enjoys off-grid camping, weightlifting, group training at her home gym, and teaching spin classes at Goodlife. An animal lover at heart, she shares her home with three cats and two Great Dane/Cane Corso dogs, and actively supports animal shelters, believing that every animal deserves daily love and care.
With a focus on proactive communication, integrity, and building lasting relationships, Melissa Willems brings warmth, professionalism, and dedication to every client’s journey, helping them find not just a property but a place to call home.
